Description
1970-71 Buffalo Sabres Commemorative Sword
Lot #254
This inaugural season sword was given to certain season ticket holders to commemorate the Sabres joining the NHL in the beginning of the 1970-71 season.  The sword is inscribed with the Sabres  logo and reads" TO COMMEMERATE THE ENTRY OF THE BUFFALO SABRES INTO THE N.H.L., 1970". It then has the facsimile signature of coach Punch Imlach. It was produced by the Wilkinson Sword Company, and is inscribed as such.  The sword is approx. 28 1/2" long with the blade being 24' long.  These swords don't come around too often.  This is a wonderful chance to pick up a very early Sabres momento. The sword does have some minor pitting.
