Description
1970-71 Barrie Meissner Cleveland Barons Game Worn Jersey
Lot #577

This home white dureen gamer by Cleveland Sporting Goods and General Athletic was worn by Barrie Meissner during the 1970-71 AHL season. Meissner played for the Minnesota North Stars during parts of the first two years of their NHL existence, 1967-68 and 1968-69. Sandwhiched around those stints was time in the minors with Regina, Memphis, Iowa and Omaha in the CHL, Seattle in the WHL and Cleveland in the AHL.

Offered here is Meissner’s home sweater from his first season with the Cleveland Barons. This very desirable style features the player name on back, a rarity for the era! Sewn into the collar are the Cleveland Sporting Goods and size tag. Sewn perfectly into the hem is the General Athletic tag. The game wear on this vintage dureen is solid and consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, washed out bloodstains, inner pilling and 3 team-sewn repairs. The beautiful Barons crest just screams old-school hockey! A very tough and desirable minor league style, worn by this former Minnesota North Star that is now more than 40-years removed from the ice and which should draw some enthusiastic bidding, choice!
