Description
1969 Ron Harris Detroit Red Wings Game Worn Jersey
Lot #49

This home red dureen gamer by Olympic Sporting Goods and General Athletic was worn by Ron Harris during the 1969 NHL season. Harris made his NHL debut in 1962-63 with the Detroit Red Wings where he spent 6 years of his 11-year NHL career. This steady defenseman also suited up for the expansion Oakland Seals as well as the expansion Atlanta Flames and finally he spent parts of four seasons wearing a New York Rangers uniform.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the Olympic Sporting Goods and frayed size tagging. Sewn into the hem is the heavily faded General Athletic tag. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and trauma, stitch pops, pilling and a couple of handfuls of team-sewn repairs. A terrific well-worn post-expansion era gamer that is now 50 years removed from the ice and once skated alongside Hall of Fame Red Wings teammates such as Gordie Howe, Frank Mahovlich, Alex Delvecchio and Terry Sawchuk.
