1969-70 Topps #70 Bobby Hull Black Hawks Autographed Card - GAI Certified
Lot #478
Bobby Hull finished his NHL career with 610 goals, which is still good for 11th on the all-time list. He finished with 1170 NHL points, another lofty total in the sports history. After a 15-year NHL career as a member of the Chicago Black Hawks, Hull jumped to the WHA’s Winnipeg Jets where he spent the next 7 seasons. In those 7 seasons, Hull scored 303 goals and amassed 638 points in a mere 411 games played while in his mid to late 30’s. Hull played part of one more NHL season following the collapse of the WHA as a 40-year-old for both the Winnipeg Jets and Hartford Whalers.

In a prominent list, which ranks the Top 50 players in WHA history Bobby Hull was voted a resounding #1. This is something that nobody would argue. The publicity surrounding the signing of Bobby Hull by the WHA’s Winnipeg franchise was enough to lift an entire league to respectability. This “old man” dominated the WHA from start to finish, producing statistics that were beyond belief for a player with his tenure. During Bobby’s final full WHA season in 1977-78, he tabbed 46 goals and 71 assists for a resounding 117 points as he neared the age of 40. Nobody will ever forget Hull’s effort during the 1974-75 campaign where, in 78 games, he scored 77 goals and 65 assists for 142 points. It was in 1974-75 when Hull tabbed 50 in 50 for the only time in his illustrious career.

His list of awards include being a (12) time 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star and a (5) time 1st or 2nd team WHA All Star. Bobby won (1) Stanley Cup, (1) Lester Patrick Trophy for outstanding service to hockey in the United States, (1) Lady Byng Trophy for the combination of sportsmanship and high ability, (3) Art Ross Trophies for leading the NHL in scoring, (2) Hart Memorial Trophies as NHL MVP and (2) Gary Davidson trophies as the WHA MVP. A professional career that includes over 900 goals and 1800 career points ranks The Golden Jet as one of Hockey’s all-time greats.

The card is beautiful and the signature is a 10. It has been GAI Certified.
