Description
1968-69 Roy Edwards Detroit Red Wings Autographed Card – Deceased
Lot #721

Edwards began his professional playing career during the late 1950’s. He would remain a fixture in the minors including the IHL, AHL, WHL, EPHL, CHL and CPHL before getting his break during the Original 6 expansion in 1967 with Detroit. In 1960 he became property of the Chicago Black Hawks.  His name was engraved on the Stanley Cup in 1961, despite never having played a single game for Chicago. He would go on to play 6 NHL seasons with the Red Wings and another, sandwiched in-between, with the Pittsburgh Penguins before hanging up his skates. Edwards immediately became the man the Wings turned to playing in 40+ games in most every season with the club. His highest total of games played was in 1972-73 as Roy played in 52 contests that season. Roy died on August 16, 1999 at the age of 62.

The card is in beautiful condition and the signature is a 10.
