Description
1968-69 OPC Johnny Bower Toronto Maple Leafs Autographed Card – Deceased
Lot #567

Bower played 13 seasons in the NHL.  After one season with the Rangers, Johnny played the rest of his career with the Toronto Maple Leafs.  Bower led the Leafs to 3 consecutive Stanley Cup Championships, 1962-64.  In 1967 he would team up with Terry Sawchuk to lead the Maple Leafs to their 4th Cup during his reign.  Although he didn't really like the two-goalie system (He wanted to play as many games as he could), Bower and Sawchuk shared the Vezina trophy as best NHL goalies in 1964-65.  In his last season 1968-69, Johnny became the oldest goalie to appear in the Stanley Cup Playoffs at almost 44 1/2 years old. Bower was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1976.

Our consignor went to a hockey game every night and had all autographs signed personally. The card and signature is beautiful.
