Description
1954 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Ball - 23 Signatures Including Walt Alston, Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella & Gil Hodges
Lot #777

This official National League Warren Giles baseball has been personally signed by 23 members and staff of the 1954 Brooklyn Dodgers.  Signatures include:  Walt Alston, Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Don Newcombe, Jim Gilliam, Carl Furillo, Carl Erskine, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Johnny Podres, George Shuba, Preacher Roe, Sandy Amoros, Billy Cox and Don Hoak.

The Brooklyn Dodgers were one of the most beloved teams of all time.  They went to the World Series 6 times over a 10-year span from 1947-1956.  The Boys of Summer came home with the championship in 1955.  Due to a real estate power struggle between Walter O'Malley, the Dodgers majority owner, and New York City Construction Coordinator Robert Moses, O'Malley moved the team to Los Angeles after the 1957 season.  The Brooklyn Dodgers played their final game at Ebbets Field on September 24, 1957, which the Dodgers won 2–0 over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

This official ball is an off-white color and the signatures are very nice.
