An absolutely stunning Terry Sawchuck signature is front and center on this single page from an autograph book signed in the later 1960's. Sawchuk won 501 games, 447 regular season and 54 playoff games, while recording 115 shutouts, 103 in the regular season and 12 in the playoffs. His 103 regular season shutouts is still a record to this day. He won the Calder Trophy as the league's top rookie in 1950-51 while also being voted on the first All-Star team.
In 1952, Terry Sawchuk led the Detroit Red Wings to the Stanley Cup in the minimum eight games of two best-of-seven series, during which he recorded four shutouts and allowed only five goals. In all Terry was a first or second team All Star 7 times, won 4 Vezina trophies, a Lester Patrick trophy and 4 Stanley Cup championships. There is no discussion of the greatest goaltender ever, without Terry's name being mentioned.
Terry died on May 31, 1970 at only 40 years of age after a shoving match with his teammate Ron Stewart. This page has been signed by 6 others including Leo Boivin, Jerry Toppazzini, Johnny Peirson and Don McKenney. As an added bonus there is also a Maurice Richard signature on the other side. This page will be accompanied by a copy of a JSA letter of authenticity.
