These red, white and black Vaughn goalie gloves were worn very early in his NHL career by Sabres #1 goaltender Ryan Miller. Born in East Lansing, MI, Ryan won the Hobey Baker Award in 2000-01 for his play at Michigan State. He began his pro career with the Sabres in 2002-03. Ryan served as a backup goalie until 2005-06 when he assumed the role of the clubs #1 goaltender. In 2006-07, his first full season as a starter, Miller lead the Sabres to a 10-0 start and earned the starting goaltender nod for the Eastern Conference in the NHL All Star game. That season ended with Ryan reaching the 40 Wins plateau leading the Sabres for the second consecutive season to a deep playoff run.
Ryan wore these gloves as he transitioned himself from Michigan State, through a brief AHL career, into the NHL. The gloves have nice game use and have been autographed on both by Ryan.
