This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Doug Gilmour during the mid 1990’s while with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Gilmour enjoyed a 20-year career that saw him play for numerous NHL franchises. He is perhaps best remembered as a Maple Leaf, where he enjoyed some of his finest seasons. During his 6 seasons in Toronto, Gilmour attained the highest scoring totals of his career. In 1992-93 he scored 127 points and followed it up in 1993-94 with 111. In each of those seasons his leadership and determination took the Leafs to the brink of the Stanley Cup Finals while also seeing Doug finish with near MVP honors.
Gilmour is a member of the 450-goal and 1400-point clubs and retired with just shy of 1000 career assists. His assist and point totals rank him among the all-time elite in the history of the game. Doug is also among the highest scorers in both assists and points in NHL playoff history. He was the recipient of the Frank J. Selke Trophy for the best defensive forward in hockey, is a 2-time NHL All Star game participant and has a Stanley Cup victory to his credit. A place in the Hockey Hall of Fame certainly awaits him in the near future.
This jersey has sat in our consignors hands since being purchased from the Leafs (Centre Sports) booth at a mid 1990’s Toronto Sports Card show. Proudly sewn to the left breast is the Captain’s “C”. This gamer features custom shortened sleeves with fine inner pilling, stick marks, board burns and a handful of team-sewn repairs. Worn by “Killer” during the prime of his Hall of Fame career.
