This Itech goalie stick was game used by Avalanche goalie Jose Theodore. Selected in the 2nd round of the 1994 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens, Jose began his career with the Habs during the 1995-96 campaign. Jose took hold of the city of Montreal where, in a 4-year stretch spanning 2000-01 thru 2003-04, he played in 59, 67, 57 and 67 games respectively.
The 2001-02 season was a banner one for Jose who captured not only the Vezina trophy for best goaltender, but the Hart trophy as the NHL's Most Valuable Player. Winning the Hart trophy is very rare for a goaltender, as Theodore became only the 6th goalie since 1924 to capture the award. After a decade in Montreal, Theodore followed the footsteps of the legendary Patrick Roy and took up residence in Colorado, where he still resides representing the Avalanche.
This Itech goalie stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. Jose has autographed the stick on the blade.
