He spent the first 11 of them with the New York Rangers. In 1993-94 Beezer joined the expansion Florida Panthers, where he remained for 5 years. Vanbiesbrouck next tended goal for two seasons in Philadelphia, which preceded a year with the Islanders and a final stint with the Devils. During his career he won 374 games, registered 40 shutouts and posted a 2.97 GAA. He partook in 3 NHL All Star games and was twice a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star. In 1986 he captured the Vezina Trophy as the leagues top goalie.
John represented Team USA in the 1998 Olympic Games as well as the 1987 and 1991 Canada Cups. The Stanley Cup would ultimately elude him, but not for the lack of effort, as we all remember him carrying the upstart Florida Panthers on his back to the Finals only to fall to Patrick Roy and his mighty Colorado Avalanche squad.
This white Vic goalie stick has the player name “J. Vanbiesbrouck” stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. It is in very nice condition with a few puck notches to the paddle. There is a nice autograph in Beezer’s own hand on the top of the paddle.
