This Northland hockey stick was game used by goaltender Hank Bassen. Bassen began his NHL career in 1954 with the Black Hawks as the back-up to Al Rollins. After spending time in the AHL and WHL, Bassen joined the Detroit Red Wings in 1960 as the back-up to Terry Sawchuk. Bassen played parts of the next several seasons with the Red Wings, while also spending time in the EPHL, WHL and AHL. The 1963-64 season saw him back-up Roger Crozier. After a couple more seasons with the Red Wings, Bassen completed his career with the expansion Pittsburgh Penguins in 1967-68. This Northland hockey stick is fully taped on the butt and the blade.
