This road blue knit gamer by Maska was worn by Michel Goulet during the early part of his Hall of Fame career. Goulet was among the finest left wings of his generation, and in NHL history for that matter. He netted a spectacular 548 goals and 1152 points during a 15-year NHL career. Michel’s goal totals from the period of 1981-82 thru 1987-88 are an impressive read, 42, 57, 56, 55, 53, 49 and 48 respectively. He was 5 times a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star and also played in 5 NHL All Star games. Michel represented Team Canada during both the 1984 and 1987 Canada Cup’s, while representing Team NHL during Rendezvous ’87 against the Russians. Michel’s career ended prematurely as he suffered a vicious head injury during March of the 1993-94 season.
The game wear on this sweater is solid consisting of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and fine inner pilling. The fragile screened on nature of these old Quebec jerseys leave many in rough shape. This example rates pretty well with the name and numbers in nearly perfect shape. The fleur de lis’ do show some cracking and peeling. This is a fine looking example that has done a good job standing the test of time. A quality addition for the Hall of Fame and 500 Goal collectors.
