Early 1980's Dale Hunter Nordiques Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match
Lot #19

This home white knit gamer by Maska was worn by Dale Hunter during the early part of his NHL career. Hunter is the only player in the history of the NHL to have tallied 300 goals, 1000 points and 3500 PIMS. These impressive numbers are sure to garner consideration for Hall of Fame induction in years to come.

Hunter’s leadership abilities will never be questioned. He served as team Captain for both the Quebec Nordiques and the Washington Capitals during his 19-year NHL career. Dale ranks 2nd on the all-time PIM list with 3565, trailing only Tiger Williams. For good measure he spent another 729 minutes in the sin bin during the playoffs. Hunter will be remembered as one of the all-time great instigators, always finding a way to get under the skin of his opponents, while still possessing the talent to light the lamp.

The game wear on this sweater is fantastic consisting of many stick and slash marks, board burns, loads of colorful board paint transfer from the boards at Le Colissee, heavy inner pilling, washed out bloodstains, fight abuse and team-sewn repairwork. Shown above is a photo match of Dale wearing this exact jersey in game action. The fragile fleur de lis and screened on elements of this sweater are showing their age with cracking and peeling evident. All that you would expect on a Dale Hunter early career Nords gamer!
