This black knit practice jersey by Reebok was worn by Maxime Talbot beginning circa his rookie season. Talbot joined the Penguins during the 2005-06 season and is now in his 6th year with the club. Harken back to the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals where in game 7, Maxime scored both of the Penguins goals to bring the Stanley Cup home to Pittsburgh for the first time in the Crosby era.
This version of the Pittsburgh Penguins practice jerseys was worn for special sessions that were open to the media. Our understanding is that each player was issued one white and one black jersey that they used for these special open media practices. In fact, these jerseys were used over and over through the course of multiple seasons and were only recently retired when the team moved the lot of them. This quality Reebok size 56 knit and mesh sweater shows use in the form of stick marks, board burns and inner pilling.
