This road white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Evgeni Malkin during the 2010-11 NHL season. The Pittsburgh Penguins made Malkin the 2nd overall selection in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He joined the Penguins and began his NHL career in style winning the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year in 2006-07. During his 2nd season, Evgeni scored 47 goals and 106 points finishing 2nd to Alex Ovechkin for the NHL scoring title. He was named a finalist for the Hart and Pearson Trophies for his sophomore season's work. His impressive skill set helped the Penguins to the Stanley Cup Finals that year where they fell at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings.
The 2008-09 season would be different, as Malkin would overtake Ovechkin and win the scoring title, good for his first Art Ross Trophy. His phenomenal work wasn’t complete. He would continue his torrid scoring through the playoffs and helped lead the Penguins to the Stanley Cup title, while being named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as playoff MVP with an amazing 36 point outburst in 24 games. Thus, Evgeni became the first ever Russian born player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy! An injury limited Malkin to 67 games in 2009-10. He still registered better than a point per game with a 77-point effort. The 2010-11 season saw Malkin again fall prey to injury, limiting him to 43 games. After a lengthy rehab, this superstar winger is back in the fold as the Penguins begin the 2011-12 campaign. Malkin, who is only 25, has already played in multiple NHL All Star games and was already twice named a 1st Team NHL All Star.
Sewn to the right shoulder of this gamer is the Consol Energy Center Inaugural Season patch. Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Malkin wore this jersey in his final 3 road games before succumbing to season-ending injury. The game wear on this 2nd set size 56 sweater is therefore on the lighter side and consists of a smattering of stick marks and board burns as well as light pilling. Shown above is a photo match of Malkin wearing this exact jersey during the 2010-11 season in a game against the Canadiens at the Bell Center on January 12th 2011. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Pittsburgh Penguins game worn jersey tagging. A nice photo matched patched offering donned by this superstar winger. This jersey will be accompanied by a Penguins team letter.
