2008-09 Yutaka Fukufuji Bakersfield Condors Game Worn Jersey – ECHL Letter
Lot #491
This white air-knit gamer by SP was worn by Yakato Fukufuji during the 2008-09 ECHL season. The Los Angeles Kings selected Fukufuji in the 8th round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. It was during the 2006-07 NHL season that the Kings called Fukufuji up and soonafter he became the first Japanese born player to ever appear in an NHL game. Fukufuji played in 4 games for the Kings that season, having spent the remainder of his North American career between the AHL and ECHL. He represented the Cincinnati Cyclones, the Bakersfield Condors, the Manchester Monarchs and the Reading Royals during his 6 years in North American. Yutaka was named the 2010 IIHF World Championship Division 1 Best Goalkeeper.

Sewn to the right breast, left shoulder and rear hem of this gamer are the sponsorship patches. The game wear on this 1st set size 58 goalie cut sweater is solid and consists of stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer, trauma and a subsequent un-repaired hole to the upper left tip of the crest and areas of heavy pilling. A nice example worn by the first Japanese born player to ever play in the NHL. This jersey will be accompanied by an ECHL letter.
