Description
2007-08 Martin Brodeur New Jersey Devils Game Worn Jersey - Avery Rule - Photo Match - Video Match - Team Letter
Lot #125

This road white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Martin Brodeur during the 2007-08 NHL regular season and playoffs. Brodeur is boldly establishing staggering career totals and will go down in history as the man who turned around the fortunes of a once fledgling franchise. Martin now has more wins than any other goalie in NHL history; breaking Patrick Roy's Wins record and finishing last season with 625. Martin was the youngest goaltender in history to 300, 400 and 500 Wins and is now the only goalie in history to sport 600 Wins.

Brodeur's record of consecutive 30-win seasons (12) came to an end in 2008-09 as he played in only 31 games due to injury. Picking up where he left off before the injury, Martin lead the league with 45 Wins in 2009-10, as he added to his record and now has eight 40+ win seasons with a record breaking 48 wins in 2006-07. Brodeur has now led the league in Wins an impessive 9 times. With 18 years under his belt, he has yet to have a season where his Goals Against Average was over a 2.70 and he has already recorded two seasons at a sub 2.00 GAA leaving him with a career GAA of 2.22. Martin's 6 shutouts last season place him at 116 career regular season shutouts, breaking another record, as he easily eclipsed Terry Sawchuk at 103. If you combine playoff shutouts with regular season shutouts, Brodeur is also the all-time record holder with 139.

As impressive as his regular season success are his staggering playoff totals; his 99 playoff wins are good for 2nd best all-time, he has a record tying 23 shutouts and a 2.01 GAA. He is leaving his mark as one of the all-time greats. In his trophy case already are (3) Stanley Cups, a Calder Trophy for rookie of the year, (5) Jennings trophies for allowing the fewest goals in a season, (4) Vezina Trophies awarded to the NHL’s top goaltender and (2) Olympic Gold Medals. Martin was 7 times a 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star and has 10 NHL All Star games to his credit. On the international stage Marty has represented Team Canada in 2 World Cups, 2 World Championships and several Olympics. He will undoubtedly be looked upon as an all-time great upon retirement.

Offered here is Brodeur’s road sweater from the latter part of the 2007-08 regular season and playoffs. The 2007-08 season was yet another great one for Brodeur. He won the Vezina Trophy and was voted 2nd Team NHL All Star as he posted 44 Wins, 4 shutouts and a 2.17 GAA. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer, areas of fine pilling and a gaudy team-sewn repair that extends upwards at the top of the crest. This is the exact jersey that Brodeur was wearing when the shenanigans of Sean Avery created “The Avery Rule” at Brodeur’s expense. Shown above are loads of photo matches of Brodeur wearing this exact jersey during both the regular season and playoffs, which include matches showing “The Avery Rule” incident. Also shown above is a video match of Brodeur wearing this exact jersey during the playoffs, as “The Avery Rule” incident occurs. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A truly fantastic offering, worn by this legendary netminder that is both photo and video matched, choice! This jersey will be accompanied by a Devils team letter.
