This native of St. Paul, MN spent time on the US National Under-18 Team and in the USHL before attending Michigan State University. The Ottawa Senators selected McKenzie in the 5th round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He joined the Binghamton Senators right out of college and spent the past 5 seasons playing in the AHL, CHL and ECHL.
