This road white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Teemu Selanne during the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals. The Winnipeg Jets chose Selanne with the 10th overall selection in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. Teemu literally burst onto the NHL scene, shattering all rookie records in his wake as he netted an incomprehensible 76 goals and 132 points as a rookie. It’s amazing that “The Finnish Flash” is still going strong, currently in his 19th season in the league at the age of 41! Selanne has compiled staggering career numbers with over 650 goals and over 1400 points to his credit. On his mantel are the 1992-93 Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year, the 1998-99 Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy as the NHL’s top goal scorer, the 2005-06 Bill Masterton Trophy for his qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey and of course the 2007 Stanley Cup. Maybe Teemu’s favorite accomplishment was becoming the highest scoring Finn in NHL history when he surpassed Jari Kurri with his 1399th point. Last season, at the age of 40, Teemu put forth a year that saw him finish 8th in the entire NHL in scoring as he tabbed an impressive 80 points in 73 games. Teemu has just followed that up with yet another stellar year! A 1st ballot induction into the Hall of Fame is certainly reserved for this all-time great.
The 2006-07 season was a special one for Selanne and his teammates. Selanne won his first and only Stanley Cup championship that spring while putting forth an incredible statistical season. He netted 48 goals and 94 points while playing in all 82 regular season games. His 48 goals were good for the 3rd highest total in the league that season, while he finished 11th in overall league scoring.
Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals patch. Proudly sewn to the left breast is the alternate Captain’s “A”, a letter of honor that Selanne only wore in game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. It was while wearing this very jersey that Selanne brilliantly assisted on the game-winning goal, thus breaking a 2-2 tie in the 3rd period against the Ottawa Senators that gave his Ducks a commanding 3-1 lead in the series and sent them back home to clinch in front of the home town fans in Game 5. The game wear on this size 54 Stanley Cup Finals Game 4 sweater consists of a fair number of stick marks, several board burns and subsequent board paint transfer. Shown above are a couple of beautiful photo matches of Selanne wearing this exact jersey during Game 4 of the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals. Also shown above are video highlights of Selanne’s brilliant assist as he set up the Ducks game winner while wearing this exact jersey in Game 4. On the back player number in silver sharpie is a beautiful autograph in Selanne’s own hand. A very special offering, worn by this all-time great during his only appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals and while brilliantly setting up the game winning goal at that, historic & choice! This jersey will be accompanied by a Ducks team letter.
