This Philadelphia Flyers jersey was part of the Ken “Hammered Hockey” Mace Collection. Ken’s collection focused intently on both of Pennsylvania’s NHL hockey teams. We will be donating a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of this sweater to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society both in support of Ken and to help aid in the fight against Blood Cancers.
This road white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Joni Pitkanen during the 2006-07 NHL season. Hailing from Oulu Finland, Joni was the 4th overall selection in the 2002 NHL entry draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Following 3 years in Philadelphia, Joni spent a season with Edmonton before moving to Carolina where he has spent the last 3 seasons.
The game wear on this set 1 jersey is solid consisting of stick and slash marks, numerous board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a handful of team-sewn repairs. Penned in the collar in black sharpie is “44-1” indicating the player and set number respectively. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A fine looking, well-worn modern era example. This jersey will be accompanied by a Flyers team letter.
It comes as no surprise that this Philadelphia Flyers jersey has solid game wear, as it was part of the Ken “Hammered Hockey” Mace Collection.
