2006-07 Dominik Hasek Red Wings Game Worn Jersey - "19" Yzerman Retirement Patch - Photo Matched - Team Letter
Lot #58

This road red air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Dominik Hasek during the 2006-07 NHL season. Dominik is the owner of 6 Vezina Trophies as the league’s most valuable goaltender as well as 2 Jenning’s Trophies for fewest goals allowed. Despite a 9-year pro career in the Czech Republic, forcing a very late beginning to his NHL career, Dominik has amassed staggering career awards and statistics. Dominik has been numerous times a 1st team NHL All Star. In addition to the 6 Vezina’s and the 2 Jennings trophies he is also the holder of 2 Lester B. Pearson awards as the NHL’s outstanding player and 2 Hart Memorial Trophies as league MVP. The Pearson Award and Hart Trophy are rarely given to a goaltender, making his total of two of each all the more remarkable.

In 2001-02, his last season before his announced retirement; Hasek won the Trophy that had eluded him to that point, the Stanley Cup, as a member of the Detroit Red Wings. Dominik decided to make a comeback in 2003-04 and is still playing strong. His 80 career shutouts place him within a few of Glenn Hall who sits 4th place on the all-time list, while his Wins total is nearing in on 400 and the top 10 all-time in that category. He continues to post miniscule GAA despite being 43 years of age. Dom will be remembered as one of the most dominating players we’ll have seen play in our lifetimes. A first ballot Hall of Fame induction no doubt awaits him, whenever he decides to hang up his skates for good.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the ever desirable Steve Yzerman 19 patch. This goalie cut size 58 sweater was worn during the year Dom returned for his 2nd stint in the Motor City. Strong game use includes stick and puck marks, plenty of goal post paint transfer, heavy pilling in all the right places and a couple of team-sewn repairs. Shown above are a number of photo matches of Hasek wearing this exact jersey before and after placement of the Yzerman patch during game action in 2006-07. Sewn to the inside hem of this sweater is the official Detroit Red Wings game worn team and 1st set stamp. This fantastic example is enhanced not only by the photo-matches and great game use, but also by the Stevie Y 19 patch, which is already putting collectors into a frenzy to get their hands on. A simply awesome gamer fit for any Hall of Fame collection. This jersey is accompanied by a Red Wings team letter.
