This home red air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Dany Heatley during the 2006-07 NHL season. The Atlanta Thrashers made Heatley the 2nd overall selection in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He joined the club after only 2 seasons at the University of Wisconsin and made an immediate impact, winning the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year. Dany joined the NHL elite the following season as he rung up 41 goals and 89 points as a sophomore. Prior to the start of the 2003-04 season, Heatley was involved in a devastating car accident which claimed the life of his teammate Dan Snyder. Dany suffered a serious knee injury in the crash and after months of rehabilitation returned to the ice to partake in 31 games.
The NHL lockout followed and prior to the start of play in 2005-06 Heatley was dealt to the Ottawa Senators, where he posted back-to-back 50-goal seasons in his first 2 years with the club. After 4 seasons in Ottawa, Dany was traded to the San Jose Sharks and put up 39 goals and 82 points, playing in all 82 games in his first year with the club. After 2 seasons in San Jose, Heatley was on the trading block yet again and was dealt to the Minnesota Wild. At the end of the 2010-11 season, Dany had already netted 325 goals and 689 points in 669 games played, quite a career pace. Dany has twice been a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star and has already played in 3 NHL All Star games. On the international stage Heatley has represented Team Canada in numerous World Championships, the World Cup of Hockey and two Olympics including the 2010 games that saw Team Canada capture the Gold.
This jersey was worn during Heatley’s 2nd of back-to-back 50-Goal seasons that saw him set a career high in points with 105 and earn his only 1st Team NHL All Star selection to date. Dany’s spectacular play helped lead the Senators all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. The game wear on this set 2 sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Heatley wearing this exact jersey during the 2006-07 season. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. This jersey will be accompanied by a Senators team letter.
It comes as no surprise that this beautiful jersey has solid game wear, as it was part of the Ken “Hammered Hockey” Mace Collection.
