This white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Russian sensation Alexander Ovechkin during the 2006-07 NHL season. Ovechkin was the 1st overall selection in the 2004 NHL entry draft by the Washington Capitals. He has lived up to the hype, already among the greats of the game. As a rookie, Alex won the Calder Trophy with a 52 goal, 106 point performance. In his 2nd season, Ovechkin earned his first of what will likely be many berths to the NHL All Star game. As a 3rd year player this past season, Ovechkin won the Art Ross trophy for leading the NHL in points with 112 and the Maurice Rocket Richard Trophy for leading the NHL in goals with 65. He is the clear cut favorite to capture the Hart trophy as the NHL's MVP. In 3 seasons Alex has been a 1st team NHL All Star selection in all of them.
Proudly sewn to the left breast of this sweater is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the inside hem are 2 patches, one is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging, the other is the official Washington Capitals game worn jersey tagging. Shown above is a beautiful photo-match which was purchased from Getty Images of Ovechkin wearing this exact sweater in game action during the 2006-07 NHL season. Game wear exists in the form of some stick marks, more than a handful of board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. We're pleased to offer a 2nd year photo-matched gamer of one of the finest hockey talents in the world, it doesn’t get much better than this folks. This jersey will also be accompanied by a Capitals team letter.
