This red air-knit and mesh gamer by Nike was worn by Jay Bouwmeester during the 2002 World Juniors Championships. Jay was the 3rd overall selection in the 2002 NHL entry draft by the Florida Panthers, the team where he spent the first 6 seasons of his NHL career. This Alberta native went home when he signed a deal with the Calgary Flames prior to the 2009-10 season. This budding star already has 2 NHL All Star game appearances in tow and the Flames are banking on more to come. Also of note is Jay’s contribution to Team Canada where he has represented his country in numerous World Championships, the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and the 2006 Olympics.
The game wear on this size 58 sweater is on the lighter side and consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. The IIHF patch is sewn to the back hem while the Canada logos are sewn to both shoulders. A nice pre-rookie example that was donned by Bouwmeester prior to joining the pro ranks.
