This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Robert Lang during the 2001 Stanley Cup Playoffs as well as the 2001-02 NHL season. The Los Angeles Kings selected Lang in the 7th round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He began his NHL career with the 1992-93 LA Kings and spent 4 seasons with the club prior to joining the Boston Bruins in 1997. After merely 3 games, Lang joined the Pittsburgh Penguins with whom he played for the next 5 seasons. Two seasons with the Washington Capitals preceded a couple with the Detroit Red Wings and finally a year each with Chicago, Montreal and Phoenix. Lang enjoyed some of his best years playing alongside fellow Czech Jaromir Jagr with the Penguins. He represented the 2004 Washington Capitals in the NHL All Star Game and put forth an international resume that includes several World Championships, the inaugural World Cup of Hockey and 4 Olympics!
The game wear on this 2001 Playoff set and 2001-02 1st set size 54 sweater is terrific and consists of hundreds of stick and slash marks, plenty of butt tape rubs, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, fine inner pilling and fight strap snaps that are completely salted shut! Removed from the left breast is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Lang wearing this exact jersey during the 2001 NHL season.
