1998-99 Kevin Holliday Thunder Bay Thunder Cats Game Worn Jersey - "Nikken Inc"
Lot #204
This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by legendary tough guy Kevin Holliday during the 1998-99 UHL season. Holliday is considered one of the minor league’s all-time great fighters. His career lasted an all too short 6+ seasons. During that span Kevin skated for Thunder Bay, Baton Rouge, Corpus Christi, Rockford, Memphis, Fort Wayne and St. Jean. His first 3 years were spent with Thunder Bay and as a rookie Holliday proved his mettle with 403 PIMS! His career spanned a mere 285 regular season games in which he compiled a staggering 2047 PIMS, INCOMPORABLE!

This amazing sweater was worn during Holliday’s last year with Thunder Bay. In 41 contests that season, Kevin amassed 352 PIMS, better than 8.5 per game! This sweater is highly customized; inserts have been added to each arm, and each sleeve has been shortened. The sleeve inserts consist of one in air-knit material and the other in knit material! The back of the collar has been opened up and butter flied with a custom sewn insert added there as well. Loads of fight abuse is evident, the collar having been tugged upon mercilessly with stitch pops aplenty. The fight strap is highly salted and rusted whose stitching has broken away from the player number on the inside. Washed out bloodstains are also obviously evident. Game wear is solid with numerous stick and slash marks, loads of board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, abrasions, heavy inner pilling and plenty of team-sewn repair work. Sewn to the back body stripe is the Nikken Inc advertising patch. Holliday jerseys are exceedingly rare and incredibly desirable among collectors. This gamer easily ranks as one of the finest minor league tough guy sweaters in the entire hobby, don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
