This road orange air-knit gamer by Nike was worn by Daymond Langkow during the 1998-99 NHL season. The Tampa Bay Lightning made Langkow the 5th overall selection in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Daymond spent parts of 4 seasons in Tampa before a trade sent him to Philadelphia in 1998. Langkow spent 3 years with the Flyers, another 3 with the Coyotes and represented the Flames for 6 seasons before returning to Phoenix this year. A serious injury from a slapshot while with Calgary put Daymond’s career in jeopardy, but he has since returned. During his 1000+ NHL games, Langkow has scored better than 250 goals and in excess of 650 points.
Langkow was dealt to the Flyers during the 1998-99 season. Offered here is Daymond’s first road jersey from that season. The game wear on this size 52 sweater is solid consisting of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Langkow wearing this exact jersey during the 1998-99 season. Also worthy of mention is evidence of a nameplate change, done after Langkow’s arrival from Tampa.
