This home white knit gamer by SP was worn by Shawn Bates during the 1997-98 AHL season, his rookie year. The Boston Bruins selected Bates in the 4th round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. After graduating Boston University, Bates began his NHL career in 1997-98 with the Bruins. After 4 years in Boston, this Melrose, MA native joined the New York Islanders where he played for the next 6 years. Shawn later went to Europe to continue his career before announcing his retirement in 2010.  

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the sponsorship patch. The game wear on this size 58 sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick and slash marks, loads of board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and more than a handful of team-sewn repairs. A tremendous rookie sweater worn by this 10-year NHL vet.
