The Edmonton Oilers selected Werenka, an Alberta native, in the 2nd round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. After 5 years at Northern Michigan University, Brad joined the Oilers organization and made his NHL debut in 1992-93. During his 2nd season in Edmonton, the team dealt him to the Quebec Nordiques where he played for one season. Brad next spent a year with the Chicago Blackhawks, parts of 3 more with the Pittsburgh Penguins and parts of two with the Calgary Flames.
