This home white knit gamer by Starter was worn by Craig Muni during the 1996-97 NHL season. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Muni in the 2nd round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. After spending parts of 4 seasons on the Leafs blueline where he struggled for playing time, Glen Sather found a home for this defenseman with the Edmonton Oilers. Muni would spend the next 7 years with the Oilers wherer he won 3 Stanley Cups. He would finish his 16-year NHL career with stops in Chicago, Buffalo, Winnipeg, Pittsburgh and Dallas.
The wrists on this gamer have been sliced open to provide more room for Muni. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, as much pilling as you’re likely to ever see on the exterior of an NHL jersey, heavy inner pilling and a gaudy Frankenstein style team-sewn repair. A fine looking example that was worn by this 3-time Cup Champ during his only season with the Penguins. This jersey will be accompanied by a Penguins team letter.
