This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by career New Jersey Devils defenseman Ken Daneyko during the 1994-95 NHL season. Daneyko is an all-time fan favorite, having spent all of his 19 seasons and nearly 1300 regular season games with the club.
This 3-time Stanley Cup winner was never slow to drop the gloves, as evidenced by his 2500+ career PIMS. Ken's place in Devils lore was further cemented by the recent retiring of his player number 3, making him only 1 of 2 devils to have his number retired (Scott Stevens #4 is aslo retired). He was the 1999-00 recipient of the Biill Masterton Trophy which is awarded to the NHL player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.
The game wear on this sweater is solid consisting of many stick marks, loads of board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstaining and fine inner pilling. This gamer has been customized by having extra material butterflied sewn into the back of the neck area. Removed from the left breast is the alternate Captain’s “A”. On the inside hem is the official New Jersey Devils game worn jersey set stamp. Shown above is a photo of Daneyko taken during the 1994-95 season wearing what we believe to be this exact jersey, butterflied neck customization and all. This is a beautiful example worn during the Devils first ever Stanley Cup winning season.
