This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Shawn McEachern during the 1992-93 NHL season. The Pittsburgh Penguins selected McEachern in the 6th round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at Boston University, this Waltham, MA native joined the Pittsburgh Penguins in time to capture a Stanley Cup in the Spring of 1992. He would spend 4 seasons in Pittsburgh, that included a quick stop in LA, before joining the Boston Bruins for a year and then serving the next 6 seasons in Ottawa. Shawn finished up his NHL career with 2 years in Atlanta and a final season in Boston.
The 1992-93 season was McEachern’s first full season and he put up impressive numbers while wearing this jersey, an notable output of 28 goals and 61 points. Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s 100-year Stanley Cup anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 50 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains and areas of pilling. A nice example from an era when the Penguins reigned supreme.
