This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Tom Kurvers during the 1991-92 NHL season. The Montreal Canadiens selected Kurvers in the 7th round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. This Minnesota native graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth where he excelled playing in the WCHA. He joined the Canadiens right out of school and in 1985-86, his 2nd year with the club, won his first and only Stanley Cup title. Kurvers would spend 11 seasons patrolling the NHL bluelines while representing Montreal, Buffalo, New Jersey, Toronto, Vancouver, the Islanders and Anaheim. An adept point man, Tom scored 421 points in 659 games.
Sewn to the left shoulder of this gamer is the New York Islanders 20-year anniversary patch. Sewn to the right breast is the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, a couple of un-repaired slices, washed out bloodstains and inner pilling. A nice looking 2-patched example.
