This road blue air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Adam Creighton during the 1991-92 NHL season. Creighton was the 11th overall selection by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1983 NHL entry draft. A veteran of 14 NHL seasons, Adam played in over 700 games during his career. During that time he was a 30-goal scorer and a 200+ PIM man.
Traded by Chicago to the Islanders only 11 games into the 1991-92 season, this sweater was Creighton’s first road jersey as an Islander. Sewn to the left shoulder is the New York Islanders 20-year anniversary patch. Sewn to the right breast is the 75-year NHL anniversary patch. The game wear on this jersey is solid consisting of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, inner pilling and more than a dozen team-sewn repairs. Evidence of a nameplate change exists as Randy Wood began the year in New York, wearing the number 11 before his early season trade to Buffalo after only 8 contests. Shown above is a photo match of Adam wearing this exact jersey during game action in 1991-92. Here is a fine looking well-worn 2-patched example that would enhance any collection of Islanders gamers.
