Description
1990-91 Luc Robitaille Los Angeles Kings Game Worn Jersey - Team Letter
Lot #303

This amazing jersey was part of the Ken “Hammered Hockey” Mace Collection. We will be donating a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of this sweater to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society both in support of Ken and to help aid in the fight against Blood Cancers.

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Luc Robitaille during the 1990-91 NHL season. Robitaille will go down as one of the greatest lower round selections in the history of the NHL entry draft. He was a 9th round pick in the 1984 NHL entry draft by the LA Kings, where he played for 14 of his 19 NHL seasons.

Robitaille compiled incredible career statistics. He retired with 668 career goals, in excess of 725 assists and nearly 1400 points. The goal and point totals are good respectively for top 10 and top 20 all-time in the history of the sport. Luc played in 7 NHL All Star games and was voted a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star 7 times. Also to his credit is the Calder Trophy for rookie of the year in 1987. Robitaille finally captured the trophy that had eluded him to that point, the Stanley Cup, as a member of the Red Wings in 2001-02. With a 19-year career now in the books, Luc is the most prolific scoring Left Wing in the history of the NHL, and a most deserving Hall of Famer.

Robitaille’s time in Los Angeles during his first 8 seasons was prolific. During that span Luc scored 392 goals and 803 points. He eclipsed the 50-goal plateau three times including a career best 63 goals during the 1992-93 season. Robitaille played in 76 games in 1990-91. He scored 45 goals and 91 points during that regular season and then turned it up a notch in the playoffs, scoring 12 goals in 12 games! Offered here is Robitaille’s home jersey from the 1990-91 season. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick and slash marks, loads of board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, heavy inner pilling, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust and 8 gaudy team-sewn repairs! On the back player number is a beautiful autograph in Luc’s own hand. We can easily say that this is the most game wear that we’ve ever seen on an old-school silver and black Robitaille gamer, which should come as no surprise to any hobbyist seeing as it was part of the Ken “Hammered Hockey” Mace Collection, choice! This jersey will be accompanied by a Kings team letter.
