1990-91 Brian Leetch Rangers Game Worn Jersey - Team Letter
Lot #24

This road blue mesh gamer by CCM and Cosby was worn by Brian Leetch during the 1990-91 NHL season. Leetch was the New York Rangers 1st round selection in the 1986 NHL entry draft. He would spend his first 17 seasons of an 18 year career as a member of the Broadway Blueshirts. Brian retired as one of the NHL’s all-time offensive leaders in scoring among defenseman. His 247 goals, 781 assists and 1028 points are numbers that will undoubtedly earn him a spot in the Hall of Fame.

While compiling these awesome statistics, Leetch won 2 Norris Trophies as the NHL’s best defenseman, the Calder Trophy for rookie of the year and the Conn Smythe Trophy for playoff MVP during his only Stanley Cup winning season. The Conn Smythe Trophy will forever tie him to the hearts of Rangers fans who waited for a Stanley Cup title for better than 50 years. Brian was 5 times a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star and was a fixture in the annual NHL All Star game. Leetch has proudly represented Team USA in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, the 1991 Canada Cup and the Olympics.

The 1990-91 season was Leetch’s 3rd full year in the NHL. His 80 games played yielded 16 goals, 88 points, an NHL All Star game appearance and a 2nd team NHL All Star selection. Sewn in the collar is the Gerry Cosby and CCM tagging. This road blue sweater shows fine game use which consists of a good many stick marks and board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and a couple of team-sewn repairs. This is a fine example of a tough to find early career gamer worn by this future Hall of Famer. This jersey will be accompanied by a Rangers team letter.
