This Philadelphia Flyers jersey was part of the Ken “Hammered Hockey” Mace Collection. Ken’s collection focused intently on both of Pennsylvania’s NHL hockey teams. We will be donating a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of this sweater to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society both in support of Ken and to help aid in the fight against Blood Cancers.
This road air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Brian Dobbin during the 1988-89 NHL season. The Philadelphia Flyers selected Dobbin in the 5th round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. He would spend 4 of his 5 NHL seasons playing for the Flyers, the last of those 5 was with the Boston Bruins. All in all Dobbin enjoyed a lengthy professional career, one that spanned the course of three decades. Throughout the late 1980’s and early 1990’s he was among the AHL’s brightest stars as he put up gaudy scoring totals year after year.
The game wear on this old school Flyers sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, inner pilling, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust and a sizable team-sewn repair that sits just atop the right sleeve numbers. A nice vintage sweater.
It comes as no surprise that this Philadelphia Flyers jersey has solid game wear, as it was part of the Ken “Hammered Hockey” Mace Collection.
