This road red knit gamer by CCM and Eastside was worn by Doug Halward during the 1987-88 NHL season. Halward was a 1st round selection by the Boston Bruins in the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft. After 3 seasons with the Bruins, Doug moved onto LA where he played for another 3 years. Next up was a 6+ season stay in Vancouver, which preceeded a few more years in Detroit and a brief stay in Edmonton. All told Halward toiled on the NHL bluelines for 14 seasons. His most productive offensive outputs came in 1979-80 with LA where he notched 56 points and 1982-83 while with Vancouver as Canucks fans saw Doug net 19 goals.
Worn during his only full season in the Motor City, Halward partook in 70 contests and accumulated 130 PIMS, the highest output of his career while wearing this very sweater. The game wear on this jersey is solid consisting of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, heavy inner pilling and 10 team-sewn repairs. A fine looking vintage Red Wings gamer.
