This road black air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by longtime Edmonton Oiler Dave Hunter during the 1987-88 NHL season. Hunter broke in with the Oilers in the final season of the WHA in 1978-79 alongside Wayne Gretzky. He would spend a decade with the franchise, winning 3 Stanley Cups with the dynasty Oilers of the 1980’s. During the 1987-88 campaign, Dave was dealt to the Penguins where he remained through the end of that season, playing in 59 games. He began the following year with Winnipeg before a deal brought him back home to Edmonton midway thru what would be his last season. This rough and tumble winger averaged better than a PIM per game, with in-excess of 1000 during his professional career while providing protection for the likes of Gretzky and co.
Worn during his only season in Pittsburgh, the game wear on this sweater is solid consisting of many stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired holes and heavy inner pilling. A nice vintage offering worn by this 3-time Cup winner.
