This road black air-knit gamer was worn by Bob Sweeney during the 1987-88 NHL season. Born in Concord Massachusetts, Sweeney got to fulfill every kid’s dream of growing up and playing professional hockey in your home town. Sweeney spent 6 years with the Boston Bruins before moving onto the Sabres, Islanders and Flames. He was part of the Bruins Stanley Cup Finals squads that squared off with the Edmonton Oilers dynasty in both 1988 and 1990.
The game wear on this sweater is solid having been worn quite extensively during the 1987-88 campaign. There exist many stick marks and board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and no less than 20 team-sewn repairs. This would make a nice addition for any collector of the traditional black and gold, harken back to the good old days.
