This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by goaltender Bob Janecyk during the 1987-88 AHL season. Janecyk, a native of Chicago IL, began his professional career in 1979. He played for a handful of minor league teams before getting his first chance in the NHL with his hometown Blackhawks in 1983-84. He next moved to Los Angeles and became a fixture in the nets for the Kings where he guarded the pipes for parts of 5 years. Those final 2 years saw Bob split time between the Kings and the New Haven Nighthawks. Offered here is Janecyk’s first road gamer from New Haven.
Janecyk spent 37 games between the pipes for New Haven in 1987-88. This road sweater shows typical goalie usage with stick and puck marks as well as pilling in all of the right places. A nameplate change is evident and ties this to Bob’s first season in New Haven. Nice vintage goalie gamer of this former LA Kings backstop.
