This road blue knit gamer was worn by Brent Sutter while skating for the New York Islanders circa the 1986 NHL season. The Islanders 1st round selection in the 1980 NHL entry draft burst onto the scene during the midst of the New York Islanders dynasty in the early 1980’s. After a brief call-up during the 1980-81 season, Brent’s career began the following season when, as a mid-season call up, his youth and feistiness would play a key role in leading the Islanders to their 3rd and then 4th consecutive Stanley Cups.

His finest playoff performances took place during the 1982-83 Cup run, as Brent tallied 10 goals and 21 points in 20 playoff games to help secure dynasty status for the New Yorkers. Brent represented Team Canada in the Canada Cup games of 1984, 1987 and 1991 and was also an NHL All Star. Perhaps the greatest tribute bestowed upon this "Sutter brother" was being named Islanders team Captain, a title that he assumed from longtime team Captain Denis Potvin. Brent held this title through the remainder of his tenure with the club.

After 11 years on Long Island, Brent moved to the Windy City where he completed his career, spending his final 7 seasons as a member of the Blackhawks. With the 07-08 NHL season now underway, Brent finds himself in a new role, behind the bench as the new head coach of the New Jersey Devils.
