This road green heavy mesh gamer by Jay Vee was worn by Steve Leach during the 1986-87 AHL season. After spending 2 years at the University of New Hampshire, Leach made his NHL debut with the Washington Capitals in 1985-86. It was his first year in a 15-year NHL career that saw him partake in better than 700 games. Leach spent the first 6 seasons of his career with the Capitals. He then moved onto the Boston Bruins where he played for 5 years before brief stints in St. Louis, Carolina, Ottawa, Phoenix and Pittsburgh.
Sewn to the right shoulder of this gamer is the Pucky Whale. Sewn to the left shoulder is the Washington Capitals team logo. The Jay Vee tagging is stitched perfectly into the collar of this minor league gamer. The game wear consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, heavy inner pilling and a material backed team-sewn repair. Also worthy of mention are a custom fight strap and a plate change. A nice vintage offering that should also appeal to the Washington Capitals collectors.
