This road purple knit gamer by CCM and Adidas was worn by Bernie Nicholls during the 1984-85 NHL season. Nicholls enjoyed an 18-year NHL career which began in LA in 1981-82. Bernie is one of only a handful of players in NHL history to score 70 goals in a single season, having accomplished the feat in 1988-89 while playing for the Kings. His point total of 150 that year still ranks among the best non Gretzky totals in league history.
Nicholls was a 3-time NHL All Star and ended his career with 475 goals and 1209 points. The game use on the old style purple and gold Kings gamer is solid consisting of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and by our count 3 dozen team repairs. The 1984-85 season saw Bernie net 46 goals and for the first time in his career score 100 points, doing so while wearing this very sweater. This is a choice gamer from the long defunct purple and gold era.
