Tony would spend the next 8 seasons playing in the Great Northwest where he established himself as one of the NHL’s highest scoring Left Wingers playing in the 1986 NHL All Star Game. In successive seasons his goal totals read an impressive 45, 39, 39, 41 and 40 despite missing games in all 5 of those years. Parts of 2 years in Pittsburgh and Buffalo followed before Tony left the NHL to spend 6 successful high scoring seasons in Germany before retiring.
The game wear on this rookie sweater is solid consisting of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, heavy inner pilling and 10 team-sewn repairs. Common practice for Canucks gamers from this era were to be sent to their alumni team following the season where the nameplates were removed and an alumni patch would be added to the shoulder. This jersey followed that route, the outline of the alumni patch is still visible upon close inspection on the right shoulder.
