This road black knit gamer by Maska was worn by Ron Delorme during the 1982-83 NHL season. Delorme began his career with the Denver/Ottawa franchise of the WHA in 1975-76. He joined the NHL in 1976-77 with the Colorado, and remained with the Rockies for 5 seasons. In 1981-82, Ron joined the Vancouver Canucks where he brought his tough nosed brand of hockey to the team. What a season it turned out to be, as the Canucks made their first ever trip to the Stanley Cup Finals only to fall at the hands of the New York Islanders dynasty. In 59 games that year, Delorme racked up an impressive 177 PIMS. He would remain with the Canucks until his retirement following the 1984-85 season, 4 years in all.
The sleeves of this sweater have been customized to provide a more snug fit for Ron with additional elastic also added to the cuffs. This heavy weight V-style knit exhibits excellent game wear consisting of stick marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, fine pilling, a heavily salted fight strap and a couple of handfuls of team-sewn repairs which are found on the body, sleeves and the player number on back. The all-original nameplate is yet another treat worth mentioning. An example that is sure to please the most ardent Canucks enthusiast and which has sat in private hands until this offering.
