This home white mesh and knit gamer by Sandow SK was worn by Richie Dunn during the 1982-83 NHL season. This Boston Massachusetts native began his NHL career in 1977-78 with the Buffalo Sabres. Dunn spent 9 of his 12 NHL seasons wearing the Sabres blue and gold. His other stays were with the Calgary Flames and Hartford Whalers. Dunn was the winner of the 1984-85 Eddie Shore Award as the AHL’s best defenseman.
Dunn spent just one season with the Flames, playing in all 80 regular season games and another 9 in the playoffs before their bitter rivals, the Edmonton Oilers, dispatched them in an early installment of the Battle of Alberta. The game wear on this vintage Sandow jersey is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and areas of pilling. Affixed to the inside is a custom old-school fight strap. Nice early era Calgary gamer.
