This road purple and gold heavy mesh and knit gamer by Maska was worn by Brian MacLellan during the 1982-83 NHL season, his rookie year. After playing for 4 seasons with the NCAA’s Bowling Green University, Brian joined the AHL’s New Haven Nighthawks. Brian spent the majority of the 1982-83 season with New Haven before getting his callup to Los Angeles. All told MacLellan would spend 8 years in the NHL, during which time he was twice a 30-goal scorer. He captured his only Stanley Cup with Calgary in 1989.
The game wear on this rookie sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired holes, washed out bloodstains, fine inner pilling and a couple of team sewn repairs. Beautiful vintage 1 year-purple and gold style!
